Oilseeds

Canola

One of the highest oil-yielding seeds, shared between the biodiesel and food industries.

About the product

Canola is the bred variety of rapeseed in which erucic acid and glucosinolate content have been reduced. With an oil content above 40 percent, it is among the seeds yielding the most oil per unit area.

In demand for biodiesel production as well as the food industry, canola supplies protein to the feed sector through the meal produced after crushing. As a cool-climate crop, its harvest calendar differs from sunflower.
