About the product
Cottonseed meal is the protein-rich by-product remaining after oil extraction from cottonseed. Thanks to cotton production in South-eastern Anatolia it is readily available in the region and offers a cost advantage.
Because of its gossypol content, the inclusion rate is limited for poultry and monogastric animals; in ruminants, rumen microorganisms largely neutralise the compound. It features widely in dairy cattle rations.
